This is a career-defining leadership opportunity to drive a whole-of-Council safety reset built on the insights of a comprehensive WHS Gap Analysis and backed by a clear, actionable WHS Improvement Plan. Change is underway at Wingecarribee. With Executive backing and a clear cultural uplift agenda, our People and Capability team is shaping systems, lifting standards, and creating the foundations for a safer, more connected organisation.

We're pressing reset on safety, and we need the right person to lead the way.

This is your opportunity to deliver lasting change, with a WHS improvement roadmap already in place, and the leadership support to make it happen. Our recent WHS Gap Analysis revealed what many already knew our systems are inconsistent, cultural buy-in is uneven, and frontline engagement in safety has room to grow. That's why we've developed a clear WHS Improvement Plan, backed by the Executive, to lift our maturity, simplify our systems, and embed a people-first safety culture across Council.

As our new Coordinator Safety and Wellbeing, you'll be the one to lead this transformation. You'll have the roadmap, the team, and the leadership support. What we need now is the right person to bring it to life, a skilled WHS professional who's calm, credible, collaborative, and ready to engage every level of the organisation in doing safety differently.

Who We're Looking For

You are:

An experienced WHS practitioner with strong legislative knowledge

A people-first leader who connects easily with frontline crews and senior leaders alike

A systems thinker who can streamline processes and drive continuous improvement

Calm under pressure, comfortable in complexity, and motivated by meaningful impact

Someone who's ready to lead a cultural and operational reset - not maintain the status quo

Why This Role is Different

You're not walking into a blank slate; we've already done the WHS Gap Analysis and have a clear Improvement Plan.

You'll lead a team of WHS and injury management/wellbeing professionals and be embedded within the People and Capability team.

You'll be backed by an Executive who understand the importance of safety and are committed to shifting the culture.

You'll directly influence the systems, language, and leadership behaviours that shape how safety is lived across Council.

The Work You'll Lead

Implementation of a WHS Improvement Plan with clear actions and timelines

Redesign of key systems, including contractor management, incident reporting and risk assessment tools

Coaching of managers and supervisors to support safe decision-making at the frontline

Reinvigoration of the Health & Safety Committee and worker consultation practices

Integration of safety into broader cultural reform efforts

Leading conversations with empathy, evidence, and clarity, building capability, not just compliance

How to Apply

We've done the analysis. We've mapped the plan. Now we now need the right person to lead it.

Submit the following documents:

Your Resume - showcasing your skills & experience.

Relevant Certifications - qualifications and licenses

Responses to the Essential Criteria - explain how your expertise aligns with the essential requirements of the role as outlined in the position description attached in a statement of claims format.
