Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Direct Line Manager in accordance with Corporate and Project Organisation Charts
Main Purpose of the Role
Responsible for ensuring the Company’s systems and resources are used effectively to enable the company
to achieve its key objectives and complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
Support the timely preparation and availability of accurate reporting of financial and administration operation
of the business.
Support the continuous improvement and development of financial and operational reporting systems in order
to drive improved overall business profitability and efficiency.
Ensure that the team meets all objectives, deadlines, and commitments in accordance with regulatory and
internal deadlines.
Guarantee all deadlines and commitments are adhered to in relation to corporate management timetables.
Key Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to the following:
• Complying with all financial and management accounting practices.
• Ensure the use of appropriate corporate standards and information systems to enable the company to
carry out its business using sound and cost-effective management and control.
• Support of up to date, accurate and reliable financial and accounting information and reports to allow
the General Manager to ensure finances are properly managed.
• Assist with the full quarterly financial reporting including forecasts, projections analysis and work on
hand analysis to the General Manager.
• Assist with the preparation of the company’s tax returns and the optimal management of tax
commitments and liabilities.
• Promote the company’s image at all times.
• To stay abreast of Corporate, Legislative and Statutory requirements applicable to your role.
Corporate Management
• Play an active role in the completion of EOM processes and financial reporting including job cost
forecast & analysis, payroll reconciliation, movement in job cost, work in progress, realise projects,
management reporting including financial work on hand.
• Play an active role in the completion of EOY processes including projected profit, prepayments &
accruals, tax preparation for accountants, financial report statements for accountants, yearend file for
auditors, update of historical financial data, Cheops year end rollover processes, Prophix management
for budget preparation, entry, forecasting and reporting.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Assist Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Reception.
• Assist with FBT management.
• Assist with BAS management.
• Assist with ATO Taxable Payments Reporting management.
• Assist with Development and Investment scenarios.
• Debtor management and administration.
• Overheads cost management.
Accounting
• Asset Management & Reporting including purchases and loan setup and maintenance, EOM & EOY
reconciliations and reporting, asset revaluation, asset disposal.
• Assist with EOY process in preparation of year end file for auditors.
• Assist with management and monitoring of Company Insurances maintenance including establishing
insurance coverage on all new projects, completion of all insurance schedules, insurance prepayment
calculations, insurance claims, insurance charge outs to projects and plant, maintenance of all records.
Management Systems
• Assist with the Administration Manual maintenance of Company Accountant manual including updates
to instructions following software & process updates & system and maintenance improvements.
• Support the development of new and enhanced financial and operational reporting systems.
• Company Resource Register maintenance.
General
• Demonstrates commitment and compliance to all SEQ Responsibilities for the business operations as
relevant to their role.
• Your responsibilities will include any other tasks which you are directed to undertake.
Correspondence
• All company correspondence is considered commercial in confidence and as such matters of a
sensitive nature or involving cost or time implication should be discussed with your Direct Line Manager
in accordance with Corporate and Project Organisation Charts.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications
Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out the job:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)
• Recognised Degree or minimum of 10 years in financial management with senior level experience
o Or other relevant qualification
o Or other relevant industry experience
• Exceptional time management, personnel management and organisational skills
• Sound knowledge of:
o Accounting, financial systems and contract administration principles
o Standard business tax accounting and business administration principles
• Highly proficient in computer based accounting and job costing systems
• Good verbal communication skills, ability to write clearly and concisely
• High level of attention to detail

• Drivers Licence
Work Experience
Considered necessary to do the job effectively:
• Minimum of 10 years in financial management with senior level experience
