Leading Hand Painter – Remote & Town Work

NuLook Painting is looking for a Leading Hand Painter to run residential and commercial painting projects from start to finish. This role is hands-on, you’ll be painting alongside the crew while managing quality, productivity, and site coordination. You’re the go-to on site, making sure the job gets done right, on time, safely while creating a fun work environment.

Location: NuLook Painting is based in Katherine, NT with projects all over the Northern Territory and Northern Western Australia

About the Job:

Join our remote painting crew and take on exciting projects like repainting cattle stations, roadhouses, pubs, and more. We handle all types of painting projects including repaints, new builds, building maintenance & plaster repairs, renovations, commercial projects, roof restorations and everything in between. You'll get to explore some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the Northern Territory and the top of Western Australia while working in a motivated tight-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and supervise a team of painters onsite

· Organise day-to-day work activities, set tasks, and keep the team moving

· Read and work off job scopes, plans, and drawings

· Manage site safety (JSA/SWMS compliance) and keep the work area tidy and safe

· Maintain high standards of preparation, painting, and finishing

· Liaise with clients, builders, and site supervisors professionally

· Solve problems onsite without drama. Finding solutions

· Monitor and control materials, stock, and paint for each project

· Report back to management with daily updates and job progress

· Train apprentices and new painters as needed

· Ensure the team meets deadlines without cutting corners

· Take responsibility for quality control before handing jobs over

Who We're Looking For:

- Qualifications: Trade-qualified painter with 4+ years post trade experience, White card, drivers licence.

EWP licence and LR truck license would be of advantage but not essential (must be willing to obtain)

- Police Check: willing and able to obtain a national police check certificate

- Experience: Previous experience as a leading hand or team supervisor will be highly regarded but not essential, We are looking for someone that is positive and excels at their trade. We want the best of the best!

- About you: This job would be best suited for someone that is looking for a lifestyle change that is mechanically minded and loves the outback, camping, finishing laidback lifestyle and has a great attention to detail and a passion for their trade with the ability to run multiple painters onsite effectively, Good communication and leadership skills and be able to keep the crew and the client happy
