About the role

Southern Aviation Pty Ltd is seeking a Flight Training Ground Instructor to join our team in Bunbury, WA. This is not a flying role. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality ground-based training to aspiring pilots, ensuring they are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills required to become safe and competent aviators.

What you'll be doing

Developing and delivering engaging ground school lessons covering a range of aviation topics, including Aerodynamics, Performance, Meteorology, Navigation, and Aircraft Systems, Law, Human Factors

Preparing lesson plans, training materials, and assessments to support the overall flight training curriculum

Providing one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to students to reinforce their understanding of course content

Maintaining accurate records of student progress and performance

Collaborating with the flight instructors to ensure a seamless integration between ground and air-based training

Staying up-to-date with industry regulations, best practices, and technological advancements in aviation education

What we're looking for

Experience as ground school instructor or teacher in the aviation industry is preferred

Strong theoretical knowledge of aviation principles, regulations, and best practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire students

Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging, interactive training sessions

Adept at using educational technologies and multimedia tools to enhance the learning experience

Dedicated to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with industry changes
