The Opportunity
The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) who manage 7 cemeteries and memorial parks across Greater Perth is seeking a Cemetery Worker (Grounds) to join our team and help uphold the dignity and care of our cemetery grounds.
As a Cemetery Worker (Grounds), you’ll play a vital role in the upkeep and presentation of our cemetery sites and gardens. From landscaping and general maintenance to assisting with burial site preparation, your work ensures our grounds remain a peaceful and welcoming place for all. Other key responsibilities include;
· Maintain lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas to a high standard
· Operate equipment and tools for groundskeeping and site preparation
· Assist with burial setups and ensure sites are prepared with care and precision
· Carry out seasonal tasks such as pruning, planting, weeding and clean-ups
· Develop cross-functional skills and support the Burials and Crematorium teams on completion of training
We have permanent full-time positions available for Grounds Cemetery Workers at various locations at the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) sites (Fremantle/Padbury/Karrakatta).

What You Bring
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following;
Experience in physical outdoor work, including the safe use of tools, equipment, and correct manual handling techniques.
Knowledge of machinery operation and maintenance, with the ability to plan and apply safe, practical work practices.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and internet usage.
A current and valid West Australian drivers license or equivalent.
