Provide meaningful assessments and design impactful therapeutic plans, for adults and adolescents with a broad range of physical and psychosocial diagnoses.

Deliver assessments and therapies in the home, community and office – most of our work is done in-home, but we also provide services in the gym, in schools, even at the park or beach.

Build relationships with your clients and their support networks – since Mentor Healthcare also provides mentoring, which is a long-term service, you’ll be involved with your clients longer-term and be able to enjoy the impact of your work.

Coordinate with our senior Consulting OTs, mentors and other healthcare providers, to maximise the efficacy of your assessments and plans, and ensure your therapies are being implemented to maximum effect.

Support management to hire new staff, which may include other OTs or OT Assistants. This may include helping management screen candidates (e.g., resume reviews and initial phone calls), meeting potential recruits and providing feedback to management

Report staffing issues to management and seek guidance when any material safety or quality arises.

Work with management to coordinate and attend initial meetings with new clients/guardians.

Assist management to identify a client’s goals and develop a Care Plan and Client Risk Management Assessment. Convey these to the allocated mentor.

Help management capture and maintain details of clients in MHC systems.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse abilities and backgrounds.

Empathy and leadership skills.

Basic skills in email, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, plus the ability and drive to learn/use other software applications required for the role.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

AHPRA registration is an occupation therapist.

Driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Ability to follow safe work practices and operate within Mentor Healthcare's policies and procedures.

Adaptable problem-solving skills.

License/Certification: AHPRA certification
