Full-Time Fixed-Term position

About the role:

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We're on the lookout for a Youth Access Worker to become a vital part of our dedicated headspace Emerald team.

As the first point of contact for young people accessing our services, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming, supportive environment. You'll conduct initial psychosocial assessments, collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team, and help guide each young person towards care and support they need.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Monitor and conduct psychosocial assessments on headspace Emerald young people to ascertain social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Deliver evidence based brief interventions, including group interventions and problem solving with young people and their families.
  • Provide an inclusive practice that values the significance of family and friends.
  • Attend and contribute to regular Care Coordination Review Meetings.
  • Assist and provide appropriate and timely referrals for a range of treatments and services offered by headspace Emerald’s partners, Private Practitioners, and other key agencies.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Diploma in Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or relevant.

  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.

Other Requirements:

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
