Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual for the position of Night Shift Worker within our Labrador Homelessness Service. This service provides essential support to clients who have experienced homelessness and are currently residing in onsite supported accommodation. The cohort consists of 12 men who are working toward securing sustainable, long-term housing solutions.
As a Night Worker, you will be responsible for the after-hours care and supervision of these clients, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and addressing any emergency or incident that may arise during sleep-over shifts. You will work in close collaboration with the Case Worker, Life Skills Officers, Local Service Manager and other team members to maintain a secure and supportive environment for the residents.
To be successful in this role, you will provide direct care, support and supervision of clients after hours/at night, ensuring their safety and wellbeing and respond to incidents and emergency situations, including those that occur during sleep-over shift.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overnight care and supervision for 12 male clients in supported accommodation.
Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents and emergency situations, ensuring the safety of clients and staff.
Assist clients with addressing housing barriers and support their connection with relevant services and resources.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of overnight shifts, including incidents, client interactions, and other relevant observations.
Ensure the site remains secure and that clients adhere to house rules during overnight hours.
Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement support plans for residents.
What makes a difference for us?
Experience working within the community services sector, in particular in the field of homelessness or another field which provides transferable experience and skills.
Working with Children Check (under the screening provisions of the Commission for Children and Young People Act 2000). Employment is conditional upon presentation of a current Suitability Card (Blue Card) or a willingness to apply for the same.
An open Australian driver's license.
Able to work some weekends.
