POSITION SUMMARY
To provide quality support and care to young people in placement. In this role you will appreciate the rights and dignity of all clients of AnchorPoint Residential and their families. You will be supportive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
The performance of this position is subject to direction from the Youth Case Manager and On-Call Officers.
SUPERVISION
An employee at this level works under general direction. Operates within established routines, methods, standards and procedures and is expected to exercise initiative in the application of established work procedures. They are responsible for managing time, planning and organising their own work.
An employee at this level may be required to supervise lower classified employees or volunteers in their day-to-day work.
KEY DUTIES
· Providing support to clients in line with their Care Plan, Positive Behaviour Support Plan, Safety Plan, Hope and Healing framework and under the instruction of management
· Provide support to young people who may have physical, intellectual and/or mental health related disabilities as well as trauma
· Provide daily living support to youth that are residing in AnchorPoint Residential operated placement
· Provide support to carers and families in the home to empower carers, support them to creative child safe environments and optimise the wellbeing and future outcomes of youth in their care
· Empower all participants to achieve their goals, recognise their abilities, maintain independence and engage in the community where possible
· Monitor the safety and wellbeing of participants and complete shift summaries of the individual's progress as instructed prior to end of shift
· Carry out all duties with diligence and due care for personal safety and the safety of others
· Maintain client privacy and confidentiality at all times
· Follow all management instructions and speak to colleagues within the culture standards and employee contract and handbook.
· Manage conflict resolution through use of de-escalation strategies
· Actively contribute to a team environment through open communication, participation in meetings, planning processes

· Ensure compliance under all applicable legislation – (example - Child Safety, WHS)
· Application of frameworks and best practice such as Hope and Healing, Positive Behaviour Support and Managing High-Risk Behaviours: A Hope and Healing Masterclass, Practice Guidelines for Reducing Police Callouts to Residential Care Services, PACE, Attachment Theory, Relationship-Based Care, Child-Focus Practice, Trauma-Informed Care, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
· Completed or currently undertaking a minimum Cert 4 in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar
· Hope and Healing
· Positive Behaviour Support and Managing High-Risk Behaviours: A Hope and Healing Masterclass
· Current Driver’s License
· National Police Check (obtained within last 3 months)
· Current Blue Card or willing to obtain

PERFORMANCE REVIEW
A Performance Review will be conducted annually or as determined by the CEO and is measured using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); on the job performance through observations and or feedback; monthly supervision to identify areas for improvement and development of your skills.
