About the Opportunity

Piacentini & Son were recently awarded a 9-year contract for Kimberley Mineral Sands Thunderbird Operations, a greenfield Mineral Sands mine 140km by road between Broome and Derby.

We are seeking an experienced Minesite Electrician, for a Permanent Fulltime opportunity, based at our KMS Broome site.

The purpose of the Mine Electrician is to carry out Isolations, disconnection /connection of the Mining Unit, as well as any other electrical work to do with the Mining Unit, workshop and amenities. The role works with Mining and Maintenance team members and reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

About You

• 3+ Years experience in a similar role (Minesite / Industrial)
• Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification & an A Grade Electrical Licence
• Current LVR / CPR Qualification
• High Risk Licence for all relevant High-Risk activities (Crane, Dogging, Forklift, EWP) is desirable
• Display a clear commitment and focus on the health, safety and well-being of all employees
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence
• Willingness to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug / Alcohol Screen

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety, health and environmental procedures, including Job Safety Analysis Plans (JSAs)
• Present for work in a fit state to undertake electrical duties
• Identify, interpret and repair electrical components of the Mining Units
• Complete isolation of the Mining Units, and necessary tag-outs
• Conduct routine electrical repairs for the workshop and other site facilities
• Complete electrical tagging for all electrical items within the company
• Be proactive with continuous improvement processes
