An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Finance and Business Advisor to join our Finance & Business Services team. As a member of the Finance and Business Services team you will provide leadership and expertise in performance, financial management and corporate governance activities and actively participate in the management of key relationships and agreements/contracts of a business nature. This also includes leadership in Activity Based Funding (ABF) requirements and costing structures for the service line. The Principal Finance and Business Advisor will provide high level business management analysis and advice enabling the service line to deliver quality, cost effective services that are consistent with the strategic and operational directions of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. You will be accountable for the timely provision of high-level business planning and co-ordination of financial aspects of the service line activities.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the service line executive in developing and implementing annual business plans, incorporating clinical activity levels, workforce, quality requirements operating and capital budget.
- Coordinate the service line process of operating budget and forecast preparation.
- Provide monthly reporting analysis and advice on service line and cost centre performance in terms of expenditure, FTE's and activity highlighting relevant variances to assist in decision making processes within an ABF environment.
- Undertake operational performance management activities, including data analysis and investigation, the provision of regular reports and recommendations to executive and cost centre managers, by monitoring and analysing data from relevant information systems in relation to patient activity levels, budget, financial position and forecasts, human resource and workplace health and safety indicators
Remuneration value up to $166 569 p.a, comprising salary between $136 035 - $145 990 p.a, employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO7). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).

About Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service
Public health services in Queensland are provided through 16 Hospital and Health Services (HHS). These are statutory bodies each governed by a Hospital and Health Board. Some public health services are also provided by private providers.
The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland, including monitoring the performance of HHSs.
