The opportunity

We are seeking System Analysts to join our Finance and Payroll Services teams. Bridging the gap between Finance and IT, suitable candidates will possess the talent to improve process and functionality, safeguard access control, and support the end-user experience.

As a successful candidate, you will be a motivated team player with a willingness to learn and develop your skills in a dynamic environment. A finance, payroll, or systems analyst background is desirable, but we also welcome applicants with transferable skills and a strong foundation in technical skills. You must be self-driven, eager to learn, and committed to delivering high-quality results.

A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.

Role responsibilities

As an AE4 System Analyst you will:

Undertake system analyst duties, under supervision.

Support and enhance financial and payroll systems.

Maintain system access controls, troubleshooting issues and provide user support.

Support the development of dashboards and financial reports for effective decision-making.

Identify and deliver system improvements and process automation.

Assist with the month-end and year-end system closes.

Co-develop training and documentation for financial and payroll systems.

As an AE5 System Analyst, you will:

Undertake system analyst duties, under supervision.

Lead work packages that enhance financial and payroll systems.

Maintain system access controls, troubleshooting issues and provide user support.

Support the development of dashboards and financial reports for effective decision-making.

Identify and deliver system improvements and process automation.

Coordinate the month-end and year-end system closes.

Co-develop training and documentation for financial and payroll systems.

Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.

Review and quality control the work undertaken by others.

As an AE6 System Analyst, you will:

Lead system analyst duties, under limited direction.

Manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Lead work packages that enhance financial and payroll systems.

Monitor system performance and work alongside IT to maintain system availability.

Lead the development of dashboards and financial reports for effective decision-making.

Apply your technical and subject matter expertise to provide advice, and training support to stakeholders and recommend potential solutions to resolve a range of queries.

Provide advice and guidance to others and contribute to finance and pay systems strategies, procedures and policy.

Coordinate the month-end and year-end system closes.

Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve system-related issues and provide guidance.

Review and quality control the work undertaken by others and support management assurance activities.

To be eligible for the role, you must be:

An Australian citizen.

Assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.

Accounting, Finance or Business qualifications are highly desirable.

Location

These positions are located in Canberra and applicants must be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is provided to successful applicants where ASIO requires you to relocate.

Employment conditions

Employment is under the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979. Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service. We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes. Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
