At Uniting Communities, we believe in building compassionate, connected communities where everyone can thrive. We are currently seeking a passionate Mental Health Recovery Coach to join our Forensic Mental Health Service (FMHS) team based in Gilles Plains.
About the Role
As a Mental Health Recovery Coach, you’ll provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support to individuals facing complex mental health challenges. Working closely with our Senior Social Worker, you will empower clients to identify goals, develop resilience, and build meaningful lives beyond diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong, empathetic relationships with residents
Facilitate individual and group recovery sessions
Co-develop personalised recovery and wellness plans
Provide advocacy and coordinate referrals to community resources
Deliver crisis intervention and support
Promote mental health awareness and lead psycho-educational workshops
Maintain accurate records and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
What You’ll Bring
Certificate IV or Diploma in Mental Health (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in mental health support
Deep understanding of recovery principles, wellness planning, and trauma-informed care
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic, client-focused team
Desirable: Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
