The Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

  • To deliver high level comprehensive occupational therapy clinical skills and leadership to provide effective and efficient treatment to a caseload spanning the continuum of care and the life spectrum. This position works across all areas of the Whitsunday Health Service, as determined through the Health Service Plan and priorities.
  • This position is based at Proserpine Hospital and provides inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. When required this position can provide services from the Community Health Centre at Cannonvale.
  • The position reports operationally to the Director of Nursing of the Whitsunday Health Service professionally to the District Director of Occupational Therapy

About the Team

The Mackay Hospital and Health Service is responsible for the provision of public health services to clients with a range of facilities located in Mackay, Sarina, Proserpine, Cannonvale, Clermont, Dysart, Moranbah, Collinsville, Bowen, Middlemount and Glenden. The health facilities located outside of Mackay form a division of the Mackay Hospital and Health Service known as the Division of Rural Services, and provide a range of acute and aged care, community, allied health and mental health services.

The Whitsunday Health Service is made up of two facilities, The Community Health Campus – Cannonvale and the Hospital Campus – Proserpine. The Community Health Campus offers a range of community health services provided by a multi-disciplinary team. The hospital is a 35 bed acute hospital which offers a number of specialty inpatient and outpatient services. The Whitsunday Health Service covers the Whitsunday Regional Shire, Midge Point and Bloomsbury.
