The Opportunity

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing best practices within our disability services division. As the Practice Lead you will drive program development and ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the unique needs of young people and individuals living with a disability. Additionally, as a leader in Thrive House, you will provide supervision and development of a group of House Managers. You will apply your leadership qualities and focus on continuous improvement, oversight of case management, and ensure overarching compliance is met.

This opportunity would suit someone with previous case management experience and strong people management skills.

This role will be based on the Sunshine Coast in beautiful Mooloolaba, with occasional travel to our Moreton Bay and Brisbane Regions.

We're Looking For:

Team Management Experience

Someone who models, inspires and supports staff, clearly focusing on building and maintaining a positive team culture and promoting professional development.

Minimum two years’ experience in a managerial position.

Strong analytical, presentation and writing skills.

Capable of leading a team of 4-6 House Managers and Community Services Programs.

Someone who THRIVES on a fast-paced role with a rewarding outcome.

You will use your coaching, mentoring and development strategies to lead a high-performing team, emphasising accountability with a solution focus.

Understanding best practice principles in staff training, learning and development.

Ability to motivate, lead, support, and mentor staff to achieve organisational goals within a team environment in collaboration with other members of the leadership team.

You will be committed to training and continuous development with a desire to Thrive!

Case Management Experience

Someone who is committed to providing high-quality service and provide support which reflects the Child Safety Statement of Standards, Disability Services Standards, legislative requirements, funding objectives, plans and goals.

You have a strong understanding of the role of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Child Protection and have a sound knowledge of the principles of the Child Protection Act (1999) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act (2013).

Professional experience relevant to the leadership of direct services to children and families, including child protection, disability, NDIS, youth work, and/or mental health services.

Previous experience overseeing thorough assessments, including needs, risks and vulnerabilities.

Experience in case planning and reviewing progress in collaboration with the individual and implementing a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of the individual, as well as barriers to achieving those.

Someone who fosters and promotes trauma-informed supports, evidence-based practices, reflective practice and professional dialogue.

Experience in positive stakeholder partnerships, requiring strong negotiation skills.

Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement workforce development and business plans.

Ability to identify potential risks and hazards in the working environment and implement mitigation strategies.

Compliance requirements

Tertiary qualification (Bachelor Level) in Community Services, Social Work, or related fields (e.g. social sciences, health, psychology).

You are eligible to work in Australia.

Hold or are eligible to obtain an LCS check, blue card and yellow card. Current eligibility checks an advantage due to the urgency of this placement.

Minimum P2 driver’s licence with no restrictions (reasonable adjustments will be made for stable medical conditions which allow the inherent requirements of the role to be performed)

Vaccination against COVID, Influenza and Hepatitis A is strongly recommended.
