This vacancy is for Permanent Part Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments.

We currently have 2 positions available:

  • Permanent Part Time appointment at 45 hours per fortnight.
  • Fixed Term Part Time appointment for up to 12 months at 30 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

What is our Dental Clinic Assistant role?

The successful applicant will provide dental clinic assistance. This includes:

  • Providing chairside and clinical assistance for Dental Officers treating patients.
  • Carries out infection control, sterilisation, and reprocessing procedures.
  • Ensuring equipment, furniture and fittings in the clinic are maintained in good order and hygienic condition.
  • Carrying out infection control in accordance with Dental Health Services Policies and Guidelines.

Area profile

DHS is part of the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) and is the largest public dental health services provider in WA, operating state-wide from a network of fixed and mobile clinics, funded by the WA Government. DHS provides the School Dental Service for children aged 5-16 years, General Dental Services to eligible adults with a current health care card or pension concession card, Subsidy Schemes and Special Dental Services.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
