About the role
As the first point of contact for many callers, this role is responsible for providing a professional, courteous, and efficient switchboard service to hospital staff, patients, and the wider community. You will ensure all incoming calls are managed promptly, accurately, and with empathy—facilitating clear and timely communication across hospital departments. This role plays a key part in supporting the safe and effective operation of the hospital by accurately transferring calls, responding to enquiries, and initiating communication protocols, including emergency response procedures.
Your ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, while maintaining a calm and helpful manner, will be essential to delivering a high standard of customer service.
Requirements
- This role requires availability for shift work across a 7-day roster, between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis and Influenza.
- A period of probation may apply.
