The opportunity

A fantastic opportunity is now available for an Auto Electrician / Experienced Automotive Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting a mix of workshop and on site work, inclusive of breakdown and repairs. You’ll primarily be working on Road transport vehicles including but not limited to Mack, UD, Kenworth, Hino, Isuzu and Volvo also fixed plant including Generators and pumps and earthmoving equipment including Bobcat, Cat, Kubota and Volvo.

Ideally, if you are passionate about what you are doing and willing to work hard, this is the role for you. You might be a bit stale working in a dealer workshop, hit the ceiling with your earning potential or have cut your teeth where you’re working, but need a new challenge to keep developing your skillset. Ideally, you’ll have a strong background in diagnosis and repair in heavy vehicles / earthmoving, but we encourage you to apply if your expertise comes from automotive background. Some of our best people have come through one of these avenues.

Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis you’ll be involved in lots of different tasks. This helps you to learn heaps and keeps your job fresh and interesting. As well as working on a wide variety of different trucks and earthmoving machinery, you need to have experience working with / troubleshooting the following:

· Canbus

· Automotive air-conditioning

· Accessory fitting

· Collision avoidance systems

· ABS & EBS braking systems

Requirements

· 4+ post trade experience

· Experience in the Earthmoving industry and on site / breakdown work

· Sound understanding of wiring diagrams and scan tools

· Ability to do overnight stays on rare occasions

· Current driver’s licence, forklift licence preferred but not essential

· Self-motivated with a strong team player mindset

· Demonstrated cleanliness and neatness is essential
