Hamilton Engineering is an established engineering company strategically located in the Australian Marine complex, Henderson WA. We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, motivated and experienced Store Person.
Role:
Plans, stores and executes the safe and efficient movement of stock into and out of the warehouse.
Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment, and
Receives and distributes all stock.
Qualifications:
Forklift Licence
MR Licence
White Card
Certificate in Warehousing (desirable)
Experience:
Store experience.
Experience in a material control position in a warehousing/distribution environment, and
Experience using a computerised warehouse/inventory system.
Activities:
Receipt, storage and despatch
Performs pick-ups and deliveries using company trucks and utility vehicles
Prepares completed jobs for despatching
Receipt and despatch of stock.
Load and unload deliveries (manually or using lifting equipment – forklift trucks and overhead cranes or other);
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Sort and place goods in storage areas in designated categories.
Follow all safety and operating procedures for receipt and despatch of stock.
Determine and arrange appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of shipping routes, procedures and rules.
Complete shipping documentation and reports, and
Track shipments as needed
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate and current stores records and stocktaking according to stores procedures.
Undertake upkeep of storage areas
Maintain loading dock and storeroom in a clean, safe organised manner.
Ensure workshop and yard area are kept clean and tidy and are free from hazards
Maintains company outdoor areas including garden, verge and car park
Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be received, moved, gathered or distributed.
Complete stock requisitions, work orders and requests, and
Answer stock enquiries.
Procedures, Administration and Reporting
Keep stock-control system up-to-date.
Advise Operations Manager of any discrepancies or stock/maintenance issues, and
Communicate to the workshop team about turnaround time for stock and goods.
Performs company vehicle inspection checks

Computer skills – data entry, bar code scanning and automated stock control system.
Physical fitness with ability to undertake manual handling activities and use lifting equipment.
