Are you an experienced Payroll Officer looking for your next challenge in a high-performing team? We are partnering with a respected organisation in the healthcare and professional services space to find a detail-oriented and proactive payroll professional for a 12-month contract opportunity.
With a national workforce of over 1,000 employees and a commitment to continuous improvement, this role offers exposure to a complex payroll environment and the chance to work alongside a collaborative and values-led People & Culture team.
The Role
As Payroll Officer, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll across multiple entities and states. You’ll support end-to-end payroll duties, reporting, employee queries, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the function.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monthly payroll processing across all states and entities
Input and maintain employee data in HRIS/payroll systems
Manage payroll inbox and respond to employee payroll queries
Prepare payroll journals, reports, and reconciliations
Assist with superannuation, payroll tax, workers comp and end of year processes
Liaise with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders (Finance, P&C)
Contribute to payroll-related projects and policy updates
About You
Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail
Solid understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
Experience with systems (Dayforce preferred but not essential)
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-first attitude
Confident in using Excel (intermediate to advanced)
