Are you tired of the grind, feeling as though you are not making the difference as a family law Solicitor you had hoped or ready to transition into a role with passion, commitment and desire to work for your community? We are a progressive legal service seeking passionate legal practitioners, committed to making a difference in the Northern Rivers. Are you someone who wants to help others and provide access to justice for those who might otherwise miss out? This role provides comprehensive legal advice and case work to vulnerable members of our community. Outreach rosters may also apply.
What an average day might look like…
· Offering legal advice and assistance to vulnerable clients.
· Attending outreach services to our program partners.
· Working collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders (e.g. legal, community, corporate, etc.) to achieve effective client outcomes.
· Representing NRCLC in internal and external meetings, activities and events.
· Demonstrated experience in providing sound legal advice and assistance in Family Law matters including experience representing clients in FDR Mediations.
· Demonstrated experience mentoring junior solicitors.
· Demonstrated experience working with and empathy for target client groups, including women experiencing or at risk of family violence, and demonstrated cultural competency with Aboriginal clients and communities.
· High order written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated
ability to apply conflict resolution skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a co-
operative and respectful work environment and to work with minimal
supervision.
· Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel in the region and work at
outreach locations.
