About the Role

Are you practical, reliable, and hands-on with a positive, can-do attitude? We’re seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our friendly team at The Village Drummoyne, working 1 day per week with potential for additional hours over time.

This role offers a wonderful opportunity to work in a supportive, community-focused, not-for-profit aged care environment, where your contribution truly makes a difference. Whether you have prior experience or are eager to learn, we provide training and ongoing support.

You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and help ensure the safety, cleanliness, and smooth running of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily maintenance tasks and minor repairs around the village

Use MEX maintenance management software to log and track work orders and maintenance schedules

Basic handyman duties such as painting, minor plumbing, and general upkeep

Maintain tidy, safe, and presentable grounds and buildings

Report issues requiring external contractors or tradespersons

Work under the direction of and collaborate with the Maintenance Manager

Maintain a strong attention to detail to ensure quality and safety standards are met

Comply with workplace health and safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn – essential

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Good presentation and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively

Previous maintenance or handyman experience is advantageous but not required

Experience or willingness to learn MEX software or similar maintenance systems

Current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C) is mandatory

White Card, NDIS Worker Screening Check, or trade qualifications are a bonus
