We foster a culture that is customer-centric, works together and focuses on achieving our best in a healthy and supportive environment. Job description:

Location: Bendigo City, Onsite
Role Type: Part time (0.8 fte) fixed term until December 2025
Required days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, flexibility with 1 other day
Remuneration: from $ 89,312.16 (inclusive of 12% super, depending on qualifications)

About The Role:

We are looking for a committed and collaborative Work Education Teacher to join the Youth and Work Education team at the Bendigo city campus as a trainer and assessor. In this role, you will support students with neuro diverse needs to develop confidence, communication skills, and practical knowledge to prepare them for greater independence and employment.

You'll deliver programs including Work Education, Transition Education, and Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy, using hands-on activities like cooking, travel training, and community excursions to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. You'll be part of a highly supportive team that shares knowledge openly and works cohesively to support student success.

The programs you will teach and assess are a critical part of Bendigo Kangan Institute's offering. They provide a pathway into the workforce for some students and for others help develop literacy, numeracy and community skills. Accordingly, an Inclusive Education teaching qualification would be beneficial in the role, although this is not essential.

We are excited about you because you have:

  • Must have: Previous experience in teaching numeracy and literacy to neuro-diverse students
  • A completed or currently studying Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • An Inclusive Education qualification (desirable) or demonstrated experience teaching and assessing students with neuro diversity
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a student-centred approach
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with students and their families

We can offer you:

  • Small, close-knit team with strong relationships across staff, students, and families
  • Small class sizes and no weekend work
  • Be part of exciting events like the Work Ed Film Festival
  • Professional development programs
  • Fitness Passport Program with exclusive access for you and your family to 230+ locations Australia wide
  • Counselling support (EAP) and Health & Wellbeing initiatives throughout the year

The Essential Paperwork:

  • Working with Children Clearance (WWCC)
  • Current police check
  • Certified right to work documentation
  • Certified copies of your qualifications and transcripts
