Merchants of the Sun are looking for a new Casual Retail Assistant to join our Gold Coast Showroom.

We’re on the lookout for a proactive, customer-first team member who thrives on variety. In this role, you’ll support new and existing customers across multiple touch points. From in-store styling to online inquiries. You’ll handle everything from phone calls and emails to live chat and DMs, ensuring every interaction reflects the Merchants of the Sun brand.

Joining the Merchants team, you play a crucial role in delivering a highly memorable customer experience, converting jewellery lovers into Merchants' wearers, and Merchants' wearers into Merchants' culture club members.

Prior customer service and retail experience is a must with a high standard of sales marketing, delivery and interpersonal skills. You will need to be available to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday/Friday and throughout the fast approaching holiday season.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Strong organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and prioritising and controlling workload.

You have experience with Shopify, Monday.com and Richpanel.

You are an autonomous and dynamic worker, able to strategise and implement set weekly tasks and projects.

You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and be able to build and maintain strong working relationships.

Outstanding communicative skills, both written and verbal.

Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve customer issues - you possess a genuine desire to help people.

You need to commit to working a minimum of 3 days per week on a weekly rotating roster, which includes weekdays and weekends. (Typically Monday, Tuesday & Thursday/Friday - 18 hours approx per week) subject to change throughout the Christmas season.

Supporting customers across retail and E-Comm -and sales, styling, returns, and everything in between.

Delivering fast, helpful responses via phone, email, SMS, social, and live chat.

Offering personalised product advice that builds long-term customer relationships.

Keeping the showroom tidy, visually merchandised, and ready to shop.

Staying up to date on product knowledge and brand values (we’ll train you!).

Working closely with the retail team to keep customer comms and follow-ups seamless.

Hitting sales and service targets in-store.

Owning the end-to-end returns process
