Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate machinist to join the team. Responsible for operation and maintenance of CNC machine, panel saw, edge bander and thickness planner, maintain a clean and organised workspace, complete all work assigned in a positive, efficient and productive manner with pride, excellent workmanship and quality.

Job requirements:

Trade Qualified in Cabinet Making/Joinery.

Experience in operation and maintenance of CNC machines, panel saw & edge banding machinery

Current Driver’s License preferred.

Ability to read and interpret drawings

Duties and responsibilities

Responsible for operation and maintenance of CNC machine, panel saw, edge bander and thickness planner

Maintenance and cleaning of all machinery, including changing of tooling and adjustments, troubleshoot issues and communicate with machine technician as required

Maintain a clean and organised workspace

Follow standard safety and operational procedures

Handling delivery of board products using walking forklift, organisation of board & edging stock in a clear and effective manner

Demonstrate pre-emptive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and unsupervised.

Observe instructions/direction for job requirements, be clear on the specific details and carry out duties.

Completion of jobs on schedule to high standards

Communicate with project manager/director, draftsperson and factory foreman as to job details, work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production goals.

Train and mentor apprentices at times.
