About the Camp

Located in the Dandenong Ranges, Mount Evelyn Recreation Camp provides schools and groups and exciting opportunity to learn all about the great outdoors - with a variety of activities from high ropes to bike education to bush cooking.

About the Role

In these hands-on roles, you'll work closely with a dedicated kitchen team to prepare and serve meals that fuel campers for their daily adventures. From breakfast to dinner, you'll play a key part in creating a positive and welcoming dining experience for all - including those with special dietary requirements.

These are casual roles with an hourly rate up to $36.59 + Super.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of meals in line with our food safety and hygiene standards
• Cater for special dietary needs with care and attention
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
• Assist with stock management and kitchen prep as required
• Support a team-focused and camper-friendly kitchen culture

About You

You are a cook who is looking for some flexibility in your workplace, and possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with campers, colleagues and other stakeholders. You will be well-organised, committed to excellent customer service and have the ability to apply best practice as outlined in the camp's Food Safety Plan and to ensure compliance with local government requirements and YMCA policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Do Food Safely Certificate (free online short course- kitchen assistant role only)
• Food Safety Supervisors Certificate (lead cook role only)
