💼 Let’s talk about the role:
As a Youth AOD Worker at Nexus Primary Health, you will provide comprehensive support to young people experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues through assessment, counselling, treatment planning, and care coordination. You will deliver flexible, evidence-based interventions, such as motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and acceptance and commitment therapy, tailored to each client’s unique needs. Your work will include early intervention and harm minimisation initiatives, as well as school-based and community development programs. You will engage with clients individually and in group settings, using both face-to-face and telehealth methods, depending on their preferences. Building strong relationships with families, schools, GPs, Youth Justice, and other health and social services will be central to your role, as you support young people to access a coordinated network of care and improve their long-term health and wellbeing outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant degree or diploma in Health or Welfare and a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services (AOD).
Experience in case management and therapeutic interventions within an AOD setting.
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to engage with diverse young people and their families.
Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
A current Victorian driver’s licence and ability to travel across sites.
