Project Officers assist in the operations of a Project/Program/Portfolio Office and the delivery of projects.
Requires 2 X Project Coordinator which has been aligned to the Project Officer job family.
Key duties and responsibilities
Seeking a highly capable and organised Strategic Program Coordinator to support our Senior Director of Program Delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys working at the intersection of strategy and execution. You’ll coordinate program operations, support governance forums, develop strategic documentation, and provide insight-driven reporting. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential, along with strong written communication and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
The Strategic Program Coordinator works closely with the Senior Director of Program Delivery to drive the operational and strategic rhythm of a complex digital transformation program. This includes supporting initiatives focused on ICT-enabled change, data and digital capability uplift, regulatory reform, and broader organisational transformation. The role provides end-to-end support across planning, performance, and governance activities, contributing to the development of program strategy, analysis of digital delivery issues, and coordination of cross-functional workstreams. With a strong understanding of ICT program management, data analysis, and digital delivery environments, the position ensures information flows, priorities are actioned, and decisions are supported by timely insights and well-structured outputs.
Key Responsibility Areas
- ICT Program Coordination and Delivery Rhythm – Coordinate the operational rhythm of the program, managing timelines, tracking milestones, and preparing materials to support the planning and delivery of ICT and digitally enabled initiatives. Ensure alignment between digital delivery streams, business objectives, and leadership engagement.
- Alignment with Digital, Data and Reform Program Objectives – Ensure program coordination activities align with digital transformation goals, applying knowledge of Agile, hybrid, or ICT delivery environments. Support delivery teams to integrate program artefacts and planning tools that drive digital outcomes.
- Strategic and Program Artefact Development – Develop and maintain high-quality digital program artefacts, including outcome frameworks, ICT roadmaps, benefits maps, technical briefings, and strategic plans to support clear direction, alignment, and execution across delivery teams.
- Data Analysis and Performance Insight – Use delivery and operational data to produce ICT performance dashboards, risk logs, and analytical reports that provide actionable insights. Support evidence-based decisions across digital program workstreams.
- Governance and Decision-Making Support – Prepare digital governance materials including agendas, risk registers, action logs, and briefing packs. Ensure digital and ICT-related decisions are tracked, transparent, and actioned efficiently.
- Digital Tools, Templates and Delivery Enablers – Design and manage Excel-based trackers, Power BI or other digital reporting tools, and standardised templates that support efficient ICT program delivery, reporting, and performance visibility.
Required Skills and Experience
Digital Delivery and ICT Program Coordination
Demonstrated experience in digital or ICT program environments, including understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
Technical Proficiency
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to build trackers, visualise data, and create polished executive-level presentations.
Analytical and Reporting Skills
Ability to analyse delivery data, identify trends, and produce clear, insight-driven reports and visuals for performance and risk monitoring.
Data, Digital and Transformation Program Delivery
Demonstrated experience working on ICT, digital or data focused programs, with an understanding how technology and transformation initiatives are planned, governed, and delivered in complex environments.
Strategic Awareness and Public Sector Experience
Understanding of program management and strategic planning, with the ability to align operational outputs to broader organisational goals within public sector, State or Federal.
Location of services: Sydney CBD
Clearance required: Baseline
The contract term will be between 6 - 12 months.
