Your new role
· Ongoing, Full Time (Part-Time may be considered)
· For ACT, Wagga Wagga, NSW or Remote (Online)
· Annual Salary between $101,622.03 to $106,078.98, plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.
The Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) provides information and delivers education and mediation services to individuals and families in a face-to-face and/or virtual environment. This includes conducting risk and suitability assessments, family dispute resolution sessions, and client support while ensuring high standards of confidentiality and client safety in all settings.
Duties:
In consultation with the Manager and Senior Practitioner, the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner will:
· Provide Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) in compliance with the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth), The Central Practice Direction and Family Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Family Law) Rules 2021, and the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2025, as well as RACR policies and procedures.
· Work with a child-focused, trauma-informed, and FDV-informed lens to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and families in all interactions.
· Conduct FDR services face-to-face and/or online, using organisationally provided secure platforms.
· Conduct comprehensive suitability and risk assessments and formulate safety plans, particularly in cases involving family and domestic violence, in all settings.
· Facilitate parenting and property mediations as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
1. Completion of the Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution or equivalent qualification, including registration as an FDRP with the Attorney-General’s Department.
2. Demonstrated experience in mediation or conflict resolution, preferably in both a face-to-face and online environment, including managing high-conflict parenting and property matters.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of family and domestic violence, crisis intervention models, trauma-responsive work, grief and loss in the context of family separation, and child development.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly with children and adults experiencing conflict or grief, with the ability to build rapport through virtual mediums.
5. Advanced proficiency with secure video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Coviu) and other relevant online platforms.
