As a Plant Operator - Open Spaces & CBD Landscape Team you'll report to the Team Leader Landscaping and be responsible for operating a variety of plant and machinery to maintain and enhance Council's parks, open spaces, and CBD landscape areas. This hands-on role involves the safe and efficient use of ride-on mowers, trucks, trailers, and other equipment to carry out routine horticultural maintenance.

Working as part of a dedicated outdoor crew, the Plant Operator supports both scheduled and reactive works, contributing to the visual appeal, safety, and usability of public spaces. The role also involves manual labouring duties, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace health and safety standards.

What You'll Bring

Demonstrated experience in the safe operation of medium to large plant such as trucks and trailers commercial ride on mowers, tractors, small motorised and electric gardening equipment and machinery.

Routine soft landscape maintenance, gardening, pruning, hedging, herbicide application,

Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices including iPad effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities to enable field productivity and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.

Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services and work within a team.

Hold and maintain minimum MR or HR Drivers Licence, WHS Induction Card. Willingness to undertake Council training in Safe Handling of Sharps and ChemCert AQF III.

Complete immunisation record of Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus offered by council or willingness to obtain prior to commencement

Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
