About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Recruitment Consultant to join our Melbourne team. This role is ideal for a recruitment professional with a strong track record in business development and candidate management, who is looking to step into a senior-level position with responsibility for achieving individual and team-based financial targets.
You will be expected to operate independently, consistently exceed operational KPIs, and represent the company as a credible and professional market expert.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Develop new and existing client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships
- Engage and convert new client leads on a monthly basis
- Promote and cross-sell services across multiple recruitment brands
- Attend regular client meetings and relevant industry networking events
- Work closely with client management to identify and maximise account opportunities
Candidate Management:
- Build and maintain a high-quality candidate portfolio through proactive sourcing
- Provide timely, honest, and professional candidate feedback throughout the recruitment lifecycle
- Present resumes and candidate profiles that are accurate, commercial, and aligned to brand standards
- Generate leads and referrals through regular candidate engagement
Job and Client Management:
- Provide clients with accurate market insights, including salary benchmarking and candidate availability
- Manage recruitment processes end-to-end, including role briefing, shortlisting, interviews, and offers
- Agree Terms of Business and negotiate contracts with clients and candidates
- Conduct post-placement follow-up to ensure satisfaction and reduce fall-off rates
Operational & Reporting:
- Maintain clean and accurate data within the CRM system
- Attend training webinars and adhere to internal company policies
- Prepare deal forecasts and key activity metrics for monthly business reviews
Team Contribution:
- Act as a role model and mentor for junior consultants
- Contribute to achieving team targets and implementing business initiatives
- Represent company values and promote a positive team culture
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3+ years' recruitment experience, ideally in a fast-paced agency setting
- Demonstrated success in hitting and exceeding sales/revenue targets
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple roles and clients concurrently
- Experience with CRM systems and data entry compliance
