About the role

Parts Bender Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Drafter to join our team in Thornton, NSW. As a Design Drafter, you will play a crucial role in the engineering and manufacturing processes, being responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that will guide the production of our high-quality components. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the overall success of our growing company.

What you'll be doing

Creating accurate 3D models and 2D technical drawings for custom and stocked parts

Translating scan data, physical samples, and concepts into production-ready designs

Supporting rapid prototyping, casting, and machining processes

Collaborating with engineers and production teams to ensure parts are functional and manufacturable

Updating and maintaining CAD libraries for parts listed on our eCommerce platform

Identifying design improvements for performance and manufacturability

Assisting with reverse engineering and the development of bespoke industrial components

Contributing to fast-paced design projects driven by real-time customer needs and online sales demand

Manage your workload and deliver high-quality designs independently, demonstrating strong self-motivation and accountability.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Design Drafter in an engineering or manufacturing environment

Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and comprehensive technical documentation

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is desirable
