Salary: $50-60/hour (contractor) or $72,000-$92,000 FTE (employee)
Hours: 19-22 hours per week, part-time
Contract: 6 months starting October 1, 2025 (likely extension to March 2028)
Location: Work from home + regular travel to Northern Grampians & Buloke Shires
Employment: Independent contractor (preferred) or part-time employee (0.5-0.6 FTE)

About the Role
Support strategic coordination and planning for the Buloke Northern Grampians Landcare Network (BNGLN) to deliver impactful environmental projects that protect, enhance and restore biodiversity. You'll build capacity among our 18 member Landcare and Conservation groups while implementing the ambitious Windharp Horizons Landscape Action Plan toward 2043.
This role offers the opportunity to strengthen partnerships within a thriving Landcare community and drive long-term environmental impact across the region.
What You'll Do
Support development and planning of natural resource management projects
Help Landcare groups secure project grants and funding
Facilitate community engagement through workshops, events, and field days
Build local community capacity and resilience
Assist with planning, priority setting, monitoring and evaluation
Foster partnerships with Traditional Owner groups and stakeholders
Key Selection Criteria
Specialist/Technical Expertise
Tertiary qualification(s) in community development, NRM, Environmental Science, Agriculture or a related discipline; or equivalent industry experience.
Stakeholder Management and Partnerships
Excellent interpersonal, networking, facilitation and conflict management skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with and motivate a range of stakeholders across government, community and private sectors.
Communication
Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, articles and grant applications suitable for communication to a range of stakeholders, government bodies and community members. Experience with digital communication platforms including websites and social media is highly desirable, along with good public presentation skills.
Community Engagement
Demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of community engagement programs, building volunteer capacity, fostering stakeholder participation in NRM and/or community initiatives.
Planning and Project Management
Proven experience in project planning, development and implementation, including monitoring and evaluation of projects. Experience in developing funding strategies and grant applications.
Organisational Skills
Proven organisational skills with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to set priorities and achieve objectives within timelines and budget constraints.

Current Driver's License and reliable vehicle
Flexible working hours (including some evenings/weekends)
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
For contractors: ABN, public liability ($20M) and professional indemnity ($1M), WorkCover insurance
