Lasermech is a fast-growing precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Adelaide. We’re looking for a proactive, diligent trainee to join our team and learn the ropes of laser nesting – the process of laying out metal parts for laser cutting to minimise waste and maximise production efficiency.

You’ll be trained hands-on in a critical part of our production process and set up with the skills to build a future in manufacturing, quoting, or production management.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:

Learning to nest sheet metal parts using specialist software

Thinking logically about material usage, part orientation, and yield

Working closely with production, estimators, and supervisors

Supporting the workflow from quote to cut

Maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in every job

Strong attention to detail and pride in doing things right

A proactive mindset – not waiting to be told what to do

A methodical, logical way of thinking

Willingness to learn and take feedback

A calm head when things get fiddly or repetitive

No prior experience in nesting or manufacturing required – just the right attitude and a sharp mind.

💰 Pay & Progression:

Starting rate: $26.50–$27.00/hour depending on skills and attitude

Full-time role with performance reviews at 3 and 6 months

Long-term growth into technical quoting or specialist roles for the right person
