Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Project & Engineering Support Officer for a Defence Air Warfare Destroyer upgrade program based in Sydney.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Provide structured support to the Engineering and PMO teams by managing technical documentation, configuration registers, and engineering data in line with Defence and CASG standards.
• Coordinate the flow of engineering information across stakeholders, ensuring traceability, version control, and readiness for audits and gate reviews.
• Assist in the collation and quality control of technical documents, and maintain dashboards and logs to support reporting and decision-making.
• Track engineering deliverables and approvals, and support assurance processes including technical working groups and performance analysis.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage engineering issues, risks, and milestone tracking.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in Defence or engineering environments, with a strong grasp of CASG governance and technical documentation workflows.
• High attention to detail and proficiency in managing large volumes of engineering data using tools like Excel, Objective, and CM systems.
• Ability to interpret and track complex engineering artefacts.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to engage confidently with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with maritime upgrade programs and configuration/data management tools (e.g., Teamcenter, DOORS, SharePoint) is highly desirable.
