Join our dynamic team as a IT Field Technician in central Victoria. You will leverage your expertise to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain IT and telecommunications systems, including WiFi access points, CCTV systems, public address systems, Starlink satellite internet, and network hardware (switches and routers) for a diverse range of clients. In this pivotal role, you’ll also manage the deployment and decommissioning of enterprise ICT and computer equipment, including server cabinets and racks.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and configure WiFi access points, including mesh networks, for reliable, high-speed connectivity in homes and businesses. Diagnose and resolve WiFi issues (signal interference, dropouts, performance optimization).
Install Starlink (roof, pole, or wall mounts), optimize performance, resolve Starlink connectivity issues (cable damage, alignment, configuration errors).
Set up CCTV systems, including cameras, cabling, and network integration. Troubleshoot system issues (camera malfunctions, connectivity) and perform preventive maintenance.
Install and rectify faults in public address systems (speakers, amplifiers, wiring) for clear audio and system reliability.
Perform remote hands tasks for network hardware upgrades, configuring switches, routers, and other devices.
Installation and maintenance of structured cabling networks.
Analyse and troubleshoot system faults.
Provide remote and on-site support to existing clients’ communication networks, including end-user training.
Read and interpret technical drawings, design documents, product specifications, and implement/install equipment as per design.
Maintain service tickets and support documentation in line with company guidelines, workflows, policies, and procedures.
Liaise with and escalate faults to vendors, upstream providers, and ISPs.
Collaborate closely with other staff in the Technical and Service Delivery Team.
Required Skills & Experience:
Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology or Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking) or Degree or diploma in IT, computer science, or a similar field.
Hold a valid Construction Site White Card.
Have a current Working with Children Check.
Full drivers licence.
Possess or be able to obtain a current ACMA cabling license, with endorsements in structured cabling.
Possess or be able to obtain private security individual registration - security equipment installer
Be confident working with servers, networking equipment, routers, switches, and WiFi systems.
Demonstrate proven experience with basic IP networking fundamentals.
Showcase proactive problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong focus on health, safety, environment, and quality.
Excel in both collaborative team settings and independent work.
