Compensation: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Are you passionate about preparing nourishing meals and supporting the wellbeing of young children? Tall Tree Early Learning Banksia Grove is seeking a qualified and experienced Food Coordinator to bring warmth and wholesome nutrition into our centre’s daily rhythm. This is a fulfilling role where your food expertise will directly support the health and development of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

About the Role

As the Food Coordinator, you’ll play an essential role in preparing fresh, age-appropriate meals and snacks based on a pre-set menu. You’ll modify meals to suit allergies, dietary needs, and developmental stages. You’ll also manage food ordering (with one dedicated hour per week for planning), ensure hygiene and food safety standards are consistently upheld, and contribute to a calm and positive mealtime experience.

Your key responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks daily
• Adjust meals for dietary needs and age appropriateness
• Manage weekly food orders (1 hour planning time included)
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and food-safe kitchen
• Support educators during mealtimes and foster a positive food culture
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and health regulations

About You – What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a committed and qualified professional who brings both kitchen expertise and a passion for working with children. Ideally, you will:

• Have prior experience in a commercial or early childhood kitchen
• Be confident preparing meals for large groups in a fast-paced environment
• Hold relevant qualifications in food preparation and/or food safety
• Understand the unique nutritional needs of children aged 0–5
• Demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills
• Be a clear communicator and effective team member
• Hold full Australian working rights
