The role
Are you ready to work with a small, innovative Environment and Sustainability team to lead a whole-of-agency shift toward genuine sustainability, drive net zero outcomes, implement nature positive strategies and innovate for new solutions to managing Sydney’s iconic parkland estates?
This is your unique opportunity to take sustainability initiatives from strategy to implementation, to shape the direction of Greater Sydney Parklands and the parklands estate. It’s a hands-on leadership role that blends policy with practical outcomes across more than 6,000 hectares of iconic estates.
Supported by a strong corporate culture, you can have a big impact, build diverse skills and not just develop the strategy but deliver on outcomes. You’ll work across the agency—from visitor services, operations, design and capital works, events, marketing, sports, heritage, and business services to embed Net Zero and climate adaptation principles in everyday operations.
You’ll be influencing stakeholders, juggling competing priorities, and keeping us ahead of industry benchmarks and government targets. This role is perfect for a big-picture thinker who knows how to get things done, loves the challenge of a diverse workplace and thrives on delivering on ground.
