We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support a key project based in Far North Queensland - Weipa, working with one of Australia's leading mining operators. This role will suit a capable and motivated logistics professional with strong coordination, communication, and planning skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing logistics operations, including the mobilisation and demobilisation of materials and equipment, managing truck movements, and supporting site-based project activities.

This will either be a local Weipa role working Monday to Friday, or a FIFO role from Cairns, on a 4:3 roster, contracted until the end of the year, with possibility for extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all inbound and outbound logistics, including mobilisation and demobilisation of materials and equipment.
  • Manage truck scheduling, site access, and delivery timelines to ensure efficient movement of goods.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to align delivery schedules and site requirements.
  • Facilitate and participate in planning and coordination meetings to provide logistics updates.
  • Maintain detailed records and tracking documentation in line with project and safety standards.
  • Provide weekly progress updates and reporting as required.
  • Support continuous improvement in logistics practices and site compliance.

Performance Objectives

  • Ensure all mobilisation and demobilisation activities are delivered on time and in full, with minimal disruptions.
  • Maintain a minimum 95% logistics schedule adherence rate across key milestones.
  • Demonstrate clear and proactive communication with stakeholders, including facilitation of regular meetings.
  • Accurately track and report on equipment and materials movement using established systems.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture, adhering to the clients HSE standards at all times.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience in logistics coordination within a mining, construction, or heavy industry environment.
  • Strong understanding of mobilisation and demobilisation processes and best practices.
  • Experience managing truck and freight logistics in remote or regional locations.
  • Strong communication skills—both oral and written—with confidence in leading discussions and stakeholder meetings.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.
  • Confident in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel and Word. Familiarity with MS Project is advantageous.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain, or project coordination (preferred but not essential).
  • Previous experience in a mining environment.
  • Ability to commit to a 12-hour day schedule on a 5/2 roster, ideally as a local resident in Weipa, or 4/3 FIFO from Cairns.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

Why Join This Project?

  • Iconic Brand: Be part of one of the world’s leading mining companies with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and community engagement.
  • Lifestyle Opportunity: Based in Weipa, this is a rare chance to enjoy a coastal regional lifestyle while working on a nationally significant project.
  • Professional Growth: Gain valuable experience in a key logistics role supporting site-based operations with real impact.

If this sounds like you and you’re ready to take on a new challenge, submit your resume, and we’ll be in touch accordingly!
