The Workplace Relations Manager will lead workplace relations activities, providing expert advice and guidance on employment matters within the public sector. This is a permanent opportunity to play a key role in shaping human resources strategies and fostering positive workplace outcomes.

Description
- Provide expert advice on workplace relations matters, including awards, agreements, and employment legislation.
- Develop and implement workplace relations strategies and policies.
- Manage and resolve employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Lead negotiations for enterprise agreements and other workplace arrangements.
- Conduct investigations into workplace grievances and disputes.
- Provide training and guidance to managers on workplace relations practices.
- Collaborate with the broader human resources team to support organisational goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workplace relations trends and legislative changes.
Profile
Must have:
- Solid experience in workplace/employee relations (not just generalist HR with minor ER exposure)
- Comfort operating in NSW industrial law and Fair Work frameworks
- Ability to manage investigations, performance issues, and workplace disputes
Nice to have:
- Prior experience in local or state government
- Experience with union engagement (USU)
- Understanding of agency/contingent workforce issues
Open to:
- Candidates from outside public sector (if experienced in WR)
- Candidates with union backgrounds (brings helpful perspective)
- Part-time consultants (3-4 days/week) or contractors
Job Offer
- A competitive salary package ranging from $135,000 to $150,000 AUD + Super.
