The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Office of the Associate Secretary, is seeking a Senior Analyst Financial Governance and Compliance to provide a critical role within Finance and Procurement.
About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
The Finance Branch leads the department's efforts to comply with government and legislative financial management responsibilities while driving a culture of strategic financial management across the department. It is responsible for the department's financial and budgetary policies and processes, including statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation compliance, government reporting (including Standing Directions), and facilitation of the annual budget process.
About the Role
The Senior Analyst Financial Governance and Compliance supports the Finance Business Unit to manage risks, issues and compliance, in line with DJCS standards, to meet its obligations, including compliance monitoring and reporting for leadership awareness and action and audit actions management
The position plays a critical role by providing information management support for Finance, specifically via SharePoint, by developing policies, procedures and support to drive desired practice - utilising audit tools to ensure appropriate security and access controls are maintained.
Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to navigate change and ambiguity is required as part of the strategic financial governance team, to drive change initiatives, improve processes and meaningfully impact people and operations within Finance.
Some of your duties will include:
- Coordinate and support executives and leaders to manage risks, issues and compliance in line with DJCS standards, to enable Finance to meet its obligations, including compliance monitoring and reporting for leadership awareness and action, and audit actions management
- Provide information management support, specifically via SharePoint, developing policies and procedures to drive desired practice, and utilise audit tools to ensure appropriate security and access controls are maintained.
- Provide coordination, quality assurance and advisory function required to execute the Department's annual compliance attestation process for the Standing Directions (under the Financial Management Act)

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience implementing robust information management policy, practice and protocols via Microsoft SharePoint and other information repositories and application (strong technical understanding of SharePoint)
- Extensive experience in brief writing and development of written collateral within a government context
- Experience developing well-written and well-designed policies that drive required practice
Qualifications/requirements
- A relevant tertiary degree/qualification is desirable.
