About the role(s)

Aboriginal Health Practitioner (x2 positions)
Join a dedicated and culturally connected team within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network, committed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal patients in the prison setting. As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide culturally safe care, clinical assessments and interventions, and contribute to ongoing care planning. Your work will play a vital role in reducing treatment disengagement and improving transition pathways from prison to community health services. This role is key to implementing the CALHN Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Hub’s holistic approach to care, focusing on chronic disease prevention, acute care support, and better discharge planning.

You will collaborate with Aboriginal Health Workers, Correctional Health staff, and community organisations to embed sustainable, culturally safe healthcare practices. Your insights will help shape service delivery, ensuring Aboriginal perspectives are integral to care planning. This is a rewarding opportunity to support real change in health outcomes through the application of clinical knowledge and cultural understanding.

Registered Nurse (x1 position)
We are seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our team and provide culturally responsive care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients within a correctional health environment. You will work closely with Aboriginal Health Workers and the Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Hub to support patients with complex health needs and assist the broader healthcare team in embedding culturally safe practices across the service. Your contribution will enhance clinical decision-making, improve discharge planning, and ensure that communication with patients and families is effective and respectful of cultural needs.

In this key role, you’ll partner with internal and external stakeholders including community-controlled health services, educational institutions, and government agencies to contribute to broader health equity goals. You’ll also provide professional guidance to colleagues in creating a safe and inclusive environment for Aboriginal patients. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference while building collaborative, system-wide change in Aboriginal health.
