About the Role
As an Aboriginal Clinical Nurse within the Urgent Care Hub BRIGHT, you will play a vital role in providing culturally safe nursing services to Aboriginal clients with complex health needs. This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver acute and sub-acute health responses that support hospital avoidance while working in a multidisciplinary team. You will be instrumental in guiding and supporting less experienced staff, consolidating your own knowledge and skills, and growing from a proficient practitioner to an advanced level of professional practice through ongoing development and experience.
This role will see you collaborate closely with Government and Non-Government organisations to deliver coordinated, integrated care for vulnerable Aboriginal people requiring holistic support. With flexibility to work across different services and sites within CALHN Integrated Care, you will contribute to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities while upholding high standards of nursing practice and accountability. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a supportive and dynamic health service environment.
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled nursing professional who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. With a commitment to culturally responsive care and a focus on improving outcomes for Aboriginal clients, you bring expertise, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to your practice.
Current registration (or eligibility) as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate.
Strong clinical skills with at least three years’ post-registration experience, delivering high-quality, safe care in line with National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to changing environments and support less experienced staff.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, healthcare standards, and quality improvement systems, combined with effective time management and organisational skills.
