Please Note. The salary range is $133,554 - $177,940 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. The salary range is commensurate with working a 10-day fortnight and may include a negotiable attraction and retention payment of $27,433 that is determined based on your qualifications, skills and experience and is subject to annual reviews.

About your new role

This position is responsible for operating as a Coordinator Structural Engineering Design and for providing structural engineering design and documentation services for both greenfield and brownfield municipal infrastructure projects. The role involves leading and coordinating structural design inputs across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and delivering efficient, practical, and sustainable structural solutions for infrastructure projects.

Key Role Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee the performance of the Structural Design Team (9 staff)
• Foster a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing team culture
• Certify engineering deliverables to statutory requirements
• Ensure compliance with the Queensland Professional Engineers Act
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align deliverables with project timelines and regulations
• Lead structural design for the Community Facilities portfolio
• Deliver sustainable, high-quality, and strategically aligned infrastructure designs
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and environmental regulations
• Apply Safety in Design (SiD) principles and conduct design risk assessments
• Proactively identify and manage design risks early in the project lifecycle
• Engage with stakeholders to resolve issues and keep projects on track

We're looking for people who have:

To be successful in this position you will be a highly motivated professional with advanced interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus. You will utilise your highly developed analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to provide sound advice, options, and recommendations to influence project outcomes. As a Coordinator Structural Engineering Design, you will be required to have extensive experience in design and construction of structures, infrastructure and willingness to be involved in the development of new standards for use across the city.

• Bachelor Degree of Engineering or extensive equivalent experience
• Registered Professional Engineer QLD (RPEQ) – Structural
• Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted
• WHS Licence General Construction White Card – desirable
• Extensive structural design experience
