The Role:

  • Work as an effective member of a professional team in the provision of services to Adults, Children and Young People affected by family violence as part of the multidisciplinary Family Violence Service established through the Government’s Safe at Home initiative.
  • Provide specialist services to adults, children and young people affected by family violence in accordance with best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
  • Provide programs that incorporate multi-level assessments and interventions and address the needs of adults, children and young people affected by family violence.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family violence and its impact on adults, children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults, children and young people with complex needs and apply appropriate models of intervention, including the developmental needs of children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative, work with general supervision and seek guidance as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise and monitor a busy workload while providing a high standard of client care.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form, and liaise effectively with clients, carers and other staff and stakeholders.

The Team:

The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) offers a specialised counselling and support to assist adults, children and young people, children who have experienced family violence. This service is part of the Safe at Home service system, with a strong focus on the safety and well-being of victim survivors of family violence.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$73,834 to $111,364 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
