About the role:
The Family Services team at Bendigo Community Health Services is currently recruiting to an outstanding, exciting and ongoing position within the team.

The Family Services Team works with vulnerable families experiencing a range of challenges, by providing individual support and group work programs to children, youth and families. The team support families to make sustainable changes in the best interests of children and young people.
As the Family Services practitioner you will support families to make sustainable changes in the best interests of children and young people. You will be a strong advocate and promote the safety, stability, wellbeing, development and cultural safety of children, young people and their families. You will be skilled in family work and interventions providing individual tailored support and case coordination as part of a dynamic team and broader family services system, underpinned by legislative frameworks.

To successfully apply for this position, you will need:
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community or related fields.
Demonstrated experience in providing assertive outreach and case management and support to children, youth and families within an empowerment framework.
A comprehensive understanding of best practice principles, consent, advocacy and confidentiality.
Demonstrated experience and skills in assessment and identifying risk in families.
Demonstrated understanding of attachment and trauma - and how this may impact on children, young people and their families.
Demonstrated experience or ability to facilitate groups with children and young people.
Demonstrated experience in building rapport and professional relationships with people from diverse backgrounds as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, youth, families and professionals.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated understanding of the impact and gendered nature of family violence.
A sound knowledge of the Victorian Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
Current Driver’s License.
Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
The successful applicant will also be required to undertake and complete a Satisfactory National Police Check.
