The CRU Service and Team:

  • Deliver adult outpatient rehabilitation service working with clients with a diverse range of diagnostic conditions, primarily acquired neurological conditions (e.g. stroke, traumatic brain injury) and progressive neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis).
  • Comprise an interdisciplinary team (including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics, Social Work, Rehabilitation Nursing, Art Tutor, Allied Health Assistants) with a focus on client centred goal setting and rehabilitation planning.
  • Work with clients to achieve their rehabilitation goals in our well-equipped centre and in their home and community.

The role:

Work as an effective member of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team in the assessment, planning and delivery of Occupational Therapy (OT) services for clients and their carers referred to the Community Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) in Southern Tasmania.

Ensure best practice standards for OT services provided by the CRU, in accordance with organisational policies and the professional codes of conduct.

You will need:

  1. Knowledge of current contemporary Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation practices, including assessment and intervention techniques, together with the use of appropriate literature, resources, and equipment relevant to Occupational Therapy in rehabilitation.
  2. Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative, to work with general supervision and to seek guidance as appropriate.
  3. Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritise and monitor a busy workload whilst providing a high standard of client care.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 68.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until April 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances:

The following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
