0.5 FTE Health Independence Programs (HIP) - Community Rehabilitation
0.3 FTE Prosthetic and Orthotics Department
St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Prosthetist/Orthotist to join our dedicated Prosthetics & Orthotics and Health Independence Program (HIP) teams.
In this dynamic role, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care across inpatient, outpatient, and community rehabilitation settings. Working within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll provide best-practice orthotic services that empower clients to achieve their goals and maximise independence.
As part of our flexible and responsive service model, you may be required to work across various HIP hub sites or programs. This will be determined in consultation with the HIP Manager, taking into account your experience, training, and development goals.
Classifications for this position will range from CP3-CP51
Your Contribution
- Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (or equivalent)
- Member of Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association
- National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening clearance
- Experience working as a National Disability Insurance Scheme provider
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a clinical Prosthetist/Orthotist covering all aspects of patient treatment, including assessment, prescription, manufacture, fitting, review and adjustment of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
- Ability to undertake technical tasks and support technicians
- Highly self-motivated with excellent organisational, communication, problem-solving and time management skills

About the Services
This position will work across both the Prosthetics and Orthotics department and the Community Rehabilitation service.
Our Prosthetics and Orthotics Department, based primarily at the Fitzroy campus, also operates from St George's Health Service in Kew. We provide a comprehensive range of orthotic and prosthetic services across acute, subacute, outpatient, and community settings-delivering high-quality care across the continuum.
The Community Rehabilitation service, part of the Health Independence Program (HIP), supports individuals recovering from injury, illness, or living with chronic conditions. Our goal is to help clients regain optimal function and independence in the community. HIP plays a critical role in enhancing client outcomes while easing hospital demand, through coordinated, integrated, and client-centred care across hospital and community interfaces.
Community Rehabilitation services are delivered from our centres in Kew and Fairfield, offering a collaborative and dynamic multidisciplinary environment committed to innovation and best practice.
