How you’ll make a difference
Conduct full safety inspections to ensure all electrical appliances and smoke detectors at our clients’ property are safe and compliant.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
Switchboard inspection and testing: condition and safety check, insulation resistance test (where required) and RCD/safety switch test.
Power point testing: earth loop and polarity test.
Testing of lights: earth continuity and switch mechanisms being mechanically sound.
Electrical appliance inspection: checking for damage to plugs, leads and casings.
Minor repairs: eg., replacement of faulty or damaged safety switches, circuit breakers and standard light switches and power points.
Smoke alarm service: testing, maintenance, and installations of 9-volt battery powered alarms and 240-volt hard-wired alarms.
What you’ll bring to the role
Hold a Victorian Electrician’s A Grade Licence
Have or obtain an ABN (Australian Business Number)
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Professional presentation and self-motivated
Strong customer and safety focus
Familiar with smart phones applications
Please note: Safety comes first at Detector Inspector, as a pre-requisite candidates will be required to complete a National Police Clearance and a Pre-Employment Physical Assessment.
