Electrical Engineer – Fixed Plant | FIFO | Mining

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in fixed plant maintenance and reliability? Join a high-performing team supporting operations at one of Australia’s major iron ore projects.

We are currently seeking a driven and experienced Electrical Engineer to provide specialist electrical support across all fixed plant operations including crushers, conveyors, screens, ABB VSDs, stackers, reclaimers, and shiploaders.

This is a FIFO role on a site-based roster, offering a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the performance and reliability of essential plant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Provide electrical engineering expertise across fixed plant systems in support of maintenance and operations.

Offer technical and functional advice in both planned and reactive maintenance environments.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and site procedures.

Evaluate and implement design changes and plant modifications.

Lead investigations into equipment failures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Assess and optimise electrical inspection and preventative maintenance strategies.

About You

You are a solutions-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic mining environment and has a passion for driving asset performance and safety.

Required:

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.

5–10 years' experience in the mining/resources industry.

Significant hands-on experience with fixed plant equipment (e.g conveyors, crushers, stackers, shiploaders).

Proven ability to work independently on a FIFO roster.

Strong commitment to safety and quality-focused outcomes.

Desirable:

Experience with master data creation, PM strategy development, and FMECA.

Background in Reliability Engineering (RCA, condition monitoring, defect elimination).

Exposure to commissioning and operational readiness activities.
